Dynamic Water Technologies came to 2600 North Central Venue, Phoenix in the face of several challenges. DWT’s team inspected the systems and concluded that the scale and algae present in the towers was not acceptable. We promised that with the UET systems algae could be eliminated in just a few weeks and remove historic scale in the wet areas. With a data center, as one of the tenants and redundant cooling systems, cooling was being rotated and that itself led to challenges. Their six towers did not share a basin, and all had to be treated independently of one another. With Phoenix having multiple water sources and makeup water coming in at levels close to 2,000 μS during the summer, traditional chemical water treatment companies were unable to cope with the mineralization in the water, and heavy scaling and bio-contamination became the result. DWT proposed a 1×4 dual anode reactor for each tower.
After several weeks of discussion with the clients, we were called upon to install the UET technology at the high-rise building located at 2600 N. Central, in Phoenix. Chemical dosing ceased upon the startup of the UET reactors and no chemicals have been used since May 12th, 2016. The cycle rates were immediately increased with blowdown set points being moved from 3,300 to 8,500 which translated into meaningful water savings. The makeup water ranges from 400 to 2,000 conductivity which is very hard to manage through traditional methods. Within 10 days of starting, the algae present in the tower basins was eliminated and has not returned. After 60 days, the towers had visible removal of existing scale. The clients track water and energy savings comparing this to historic reports.
When we installed the UET system, 4 of the 6 towers were only 1 year old. The clients are very pleased that the bi-weekly iron testing is consistently reading at 0.00ppm. This should significantly extend the useful life of the client’s sizable capital investment. The continued partnership we extend to all our customers have made us welcome at their facility in California. We would like to extend the same to all potential customers who are in need of a efficient non-chemical water treatment technology.
